Glasach

Glasach — a completely innovative project with a modern violin sound. Glasach, translated from Scottish means “green field”, and the name itself reflects the spaciousness and feeling of freedom. The group performs Celtic music, both traditional and contemporary author’s. This is a project of the Russian fiddler KeyReel Raskolenko, a graduate of the Russian Academy of Music named after A. Gnesins, the first ever Russian finalist in the All Ireland competition in Ireland, a participant in several traditional violin courses in Ireland and Scotland.

Music recorded by KeyReel, Glasach duo, Glasach Trio and the band

You will fall into the atmosphere of a living tradition, bright, incendiary, sometimes dreamy and even sad, but in general, incredibly bright and cheerful music.

Glasach is the first band in Russia that plays Cape Breton, the music of Nova Scotia (an island province of Canada). In addition, the Glasach band plays other musical traditions. This is the traditional music of Scotland, Irish music and Celtic music of North America, up to the Old-time style. All that musical heritage is refracted in excellent original mixes and arrangements, and in the incredibly lively and professional sound of the performers. This stuff you have never heard in Russia!
